Escapism

He lives to escape,

I don’t know what he’s running from but,

Like Harry Houdini,

The world is too small to contain him,

He must loosen his chains frequently,

Slip away,

Before we know he’s in another country,

Gone to the moon,

Jumped into a black hole,

Found himself tied to a parallel universe,

Or maybe another pub,

Restaurant, concert hall, festival,

Another ocean, another beach,

Another sky.

Anywhere,

Everywhere,

Never here.
